The demonstration needed to incorporate clear audio as part of its storytelling, informing attendees watching from the waterfront, convention center and live streams about each action-packed part of the ‘battle.’ Enter Encore, ready to take on the mission.

Hosted at the prestigious National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, the event would need to accommodate a live audience of over 135 attendees in the main room, while extending a similarly momentous experience to additional viewers in an overflow space.

- Enhancing the storytelling with two video walls and four downstage monitors with newsfeeds.
- Capturing the experience using two tripod cameras, a 20-ft jib camera and a high-end audio package.
- Delivering seamless video and audio feeds from the main room to attendees in the overflow space.
- Broadening the event’s reach with two outbound satellite channels to Times Square and TV stations including Bloomberg, CNBC and Fox Business.

Objective
Creating the large-scale affair on the National Mall presented unique challenges and layers of complexity — specifically to logistics and infrastructure planning. Luckily, the foundation teamed up with Encore and its subsidiary brand Hargrove to bring the vibrant festival of cultures to life.

The event featured over 17,000 performers representing more than 180 countries around the world. Their breathtaking performances showcased incredible and diverse voices, talent and creativity on one central stage. It also engaged attendees with hands-on activities like workshops on meditation, culturally inspired crafts for kids and a wide array of cuisine.
Over the three days, the festival welcomed one million attendees with an additional 25 million viewers who watched the live stream, serving as a testament to the power of unity and the magic that Encore can create on a global stage.

When NCJUA’s remote audience increased from two to ten, and the in-person board member needs adjusted around the “U”-shape setup, Joanna and her team knew adapting their technical support would be crucial to deliver a seamless production experience.
A seasoned technician, Joanna understood the customer’s needs, from the distance of the in-room split screens and different views, including a robotic camera that caused switching complexities and readability issues, to elevated internet requirements and the right in-person table-top microphones to handle private side-bar conversations during live presentations.

The Challenge
A finance organization was preparing for their Annual General Meeting (AGM), and the stakes were high. The customer needed to plan a seamless experience for 300 of their high-value investors, who were flying into Avignon, France, for the event from around the world. Yet with 14 fund meetings in just two days at two venues across the city — and different groups attending each — the customer needed a polished and simple-to-follow system to ensure the international attendees had a seamless experience. This included an easy way to receive any last-minute changes to the agenda, speakers and/or locations. Enter Jo and team, ready to deliver.
The Solution
To deliver a smooth event experience, Jo and team recommended that the customer create individualized itineraries for each participant, which would minimize the number of relocations between venues and accommodate for travel time. Under their technical guidance, the customer was able to equip participants with pre-event access to Chime Live℠. With this technology solution, each fund investor only needed to look at their phone to see where they needed to be and when. Any last-minute agenda changes were available immediately.

Capturing graduations on video is always important, but especially with this one happening in person for the first time since the pandemic. The William James College was two hours away from starting their commencement ceremony. The Encore production team had everything set and in place until their camera operator covering the graduation became unexpectedly ill. No problem.The Solution
As we know, from time to time unexpected things happen. The production team acted immediately and tapped into Encore’s vast resources to find the best backup camera operator. They called Niko, a technical supervisor and skilled cameraman, who was breaking down meeting rooms at a close by Boston hotel. Niko was ready and jumped into action.
